Movie Hiccup is the 1st, while book Hiccup is the 3rd. Meaning the movie happens long before the book, and is the reason why vikings and dragons get along on Berk.

In this case Toothless (a young sea dragon) is actually a young Wodensfang that was sent to kill Hiccup.

Hiccup the 1st (and the rest of the Hooligans) lived on the Isle of Berk for over 100 years before Grimbeard moved to the Island of Tomorrow.

To better blend between the books and the movie (as well as the dragon language), I've changed a lot dragons name and their categories.
